What are Pre-Orders/How do I set Pre-Orders?

***Please keep in mind that a Pre-Order date is considered a Live Date as the release will be live on the platform for Pre-Order on this date. The 2 week minimum for submitting a release is before any and all live dates, not just the release date.

What pre-orders are and how to use them is explained below, if you have any issues with your pre-order we recommend you create a ticket in our help desk and provide the UPC as well as the issue with the pre-order.

What is a pre-order?

A pre-order is an option that allows you to make you release available for sale before the official release date. Customers can see the release name, art & tracks before the release. Using this feature your fans can lock in their purchase of your release before it even comes out.

Setting a pre-order date

Via the Symphonic MS system when creating a release under the "Partners" section (step 3) you can set a pre-order date. This pre-order date will be added to any partner that accepts pre-order dates*.

Note* - Partners that accept Pre Orders are:

  • Google Play
  • iTunes
  • Amazon
  • Traxsource (pre-order by request only via ticket)
  • Juno
  • Beatport

Make sure that your pre-order date is at least 2 weeks later than the date you submit the release to avoid any issues with the pre-order.

We recommending using this option in conjunction with promotion efforts to make the biggest splash possible for your release.

Additionally, Instant Gratification can also be used to allow consumers to purchase select tracks in a pre-order before a release.
